2024 in Review: Celebrating Milestones and Embracing the Future with Clean Energy Columbus

2024 is coming to a close, and Clean Energy Columbus (CEC) wants to recap the amazing year that we’ve had.

We’ve accomplished much this year and some of our proudest moments came from serving the community directly. In June CEC partnered with AEP Energy to provide Columbus residents with free energy efficiency kits that included LED bulbs, low-flow showerheads, advanced power strips, LED night lights, rope caulk, and window insulation kits, all with the goal of saving energy in Columbus households.

Following that, in July, CEC held a Lunch and Learn event to educate residents and community partners on the program, hoping to further our reach and the community’s understanding of clean energy.

This year, CEC also advanced the Atlanta Farms Solar Project, which is set to have a generating capacity of 199.6 megawatts of solar energy and provide jobs to over 300 Ohio residents.

Winter Resources:

CEC is always thinking of our community members, so we want to take the time to share a valuable resource for the coming months. We know that the months ahead will continue to drop in temperature, with some days reaching below freezing. In response to that, the Columbus Coalition for the Homeless provides shelter in warming centers across the city. These warming centers provide meals, cots, and blankets to those in need. To find a full map of warming centers, please visit here. Find a full list of locations and their hours here.
