Thank you for being part of Clean Energy Columbus and joining us to make Columbus cleaner and greener!

A Clean Energy City, Powered Locally

Clean Energy Columbus sources power from Ohio‑based renewable projects, as well as sourcing clean energy from other regions. CEC’s Ohio-based energy includes 180 MW of solar energy from Pickaway County, 49 MW of solar energy from the Atlanta Farms Solar Project in Clinton County, and 83 MW of wind energy from Huron and Erie Counties. By sourcing energy in‑state, the program supports Ohio jobs and keeps economic benefits close to home.

How CEC Has Made an Impact

To date, the clean energy delivered through Clean Energy Columbus is equivalent to:

  • Taking 1.4 million cars off the road
  • Preserving 6.2 million acres of forests
  • Providing electricity for nearly 700,000 homes

These numbers represent real, tangible progress toward a healthier, more sustainable Columbus.

Advancing Equity Through Clean Energy

CEC was built with equity at its core. Every participating resident receives the same 100% renewable electricity, regardless of their neighborhood. Cleaner air and renewable energy access help reduce long‑standing environmental health disparities. At the same time, the development of local clean energy projects creates jobs and economic opportunities across Ohio, supporting a more equitable future for all residents.
