Powering Ohio’s Future: Solar Projects and Sustainability Tips
Clean Energy Columbus continues to advance central Ohio’s clean energy landscape with projects like the Atlanta Farms Solar Project. Set to generate 199.6 megawatts (MW) and create over 300 clean energy jobs, Atlanta Farms will expand community access to renewable energy without the need for individual solar panel installation. This project is projected to generate $48 million in tax revenue over its lifetime and enhance energy reliability for central Ohioans. The project is nearly complete and will be powering the program soon. Stay tuned for updates and learn more about the project here.
In other Ohio sustainability news, Clinton Solar is a 49 MW solar farm currently under construction in Clinton County, Ohio. Like the Atlanta Farms project, it will use photovoltaic (PV) solar panels to capture sunlight and generate direct current (DC) electricity. The project is expected to enhance Ohio’s renewable energy portfolio, supporting both environmental goals and local economic development. Construction is in progress and operations are estimated to begin in the second half of 2025. Once completed, Clinton Solar will provide a stable and sustainable energy source to residents and businesses alike.
Spring Energy Efficiency Tips
Winter is slowly thawing out, so keep these Spring energy efficiency tips in mind:
- Change your air filter & schedule an A/C tune-up: Ensure your air conditioning is running smoothly before the summer heat kicks in.
- Seal gaps: Use caulk or weatherstripping around windows to prevent cool air from escaping your home.
- Upgrade to energy-efficient LED bulbs and appliance (like those from ENERGY STAR) to optimize energy usage.
